The Populist Papers from Lary Larson

  • In 1787, the Continental Congress approved the United States Constitution and sent it to the states to ratify. That took until 1790. In the meantime, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay wrote the Federalist Papers and had them printed and widely distributed.  Their goal was to educate the public. The Constitution proposed a revolutionary approach to government. The only way voters would approve it was if they agreed with it, and the only way they would agree with it was if they understood it.  That is why I am writing these position statements.  I want the voters to know what I stand for, so that they will elect me as their voice in Boise. I  call these essays "The Populist Papers."
